Well I will start with "Yes I know they aren't supposed to go thru the washer. My dog decided to mark his territory on the bed this evening and when I stripped the bed the iPod mistakenly wound up in the washer.

Anybody ever tried to dry out an iPod and were you successful? I thought about the dryer with the bed clothes but decided against it. :D

First thought was hair dryer. then the oven on low heat. Anybody got better suggestions. Probably going to have to go to ebay and replace it.

    Thanks for any help.

How about the old ziplock full of rice trick? Just put a half cup of (uncooked) rice in a ziplock and seal the device inside for a couple of days.

    edit- too quick Joe.

i still would not be surprised if it did not work or was showing signs of damage. But if it has not been mentioned uncooked rice in a sealed bag should help.

You'd best prepare yourself to get a new one. I'm not counting on the rice to work. It took on water, but it was also agitated and spun and beat up in there. If it were mine, I'd do the rice thing, but I wouldn't count on it working.

I'd try some, I dunno, uncooked rice or something as a dessicant. As long as it wasn't damaged by all the banging around, and if it was wrapped in all that cloth it very likely wasn't, just drying it out should work. If it doesn't, well, it's probably toast. You're at the point it can't hurt to try.
