After years of searching, I finally got a nice bring back cyq P38! This one is all matching and in almost perfect condition with the original 1944 dated holster. It was made in September of 1944, so it has a lot of late war features. Cog wheel hammer, stamped slide release, rough milled finish. P38s are my favorite German pistol of WWII. They're so smooth and fun to shoot! I can't wait to get this thing out for some range time! I figured you guys would enjoy seeing it.

Nice wartime P38 you got there, especially with the period correct holster. I myself much prefer the steel framed P38 over the post war alloy P1's.

That's interesting. What is something like that worth?
They can be all over the place honestly. I've seen one Mauser from 43 with an asking price of 2k by a private seller that had some rusting issues when another vendor offered me a later war Mauser with no rust for $600 at the same local show. Gunbroker and armslist postings usually fall within those price ranges as well that i have seen.

FWIW I have $600 in a 43 Walther I traded for awhile back. YMMV

Beautiful gun! The wear/finish on the holster really catches the eye. The latest imports of post war 38's have been tempting but I am holding off to hopefully find a wartime one like this. Did it come with bring back papers?
