I was going through a bag of 30-06 brass. Mostly WWII stuff but I found five pieces of this U.S. Cartridge Co. brass with 1918 head stamps.
Cool thing about this Cal .30 Model 1906 brass is that it was made for use in aircraft machineguns. You can tell by the ring crimp on the primers.
This was done because a malfunction in a machinegun, due to a blown or setback primer would have been tough to clear in an aircraft, obviously.
