Mosin wanted. Prefer the shorter variations. Just want one to plink around with. Haven't done much research, not sure of good / bad years?

Anyone have one they want to get rid of? I might just head to bradis, think they had some <$100

    Don's spot on.

Also check out JG gun sales in AZ. They had them for like $60.

The M44 is the most popular "short" or "carbine" version of the Mosin.

IIRC, the M38 is the other.

The 91/30 is the long monster.

Dunhams has them for like 49.00 on sale at certain times of the year
I have bought 2 of them at that price
My friend just got a Mosin 98 for 70.00 I think its the longer model
They are fun to shoot , good Luck have fun

Thanks guys, I bought a Ruger MKII the other week so this is on hold for a bit. Think the next purchase will be on of those german sig police trade ins.

AIM has the best price I've found for the SIG P5's $259.95
Either AIM or SOG have good prices on the Mosin's.

I just got a Hand Pick M38 for my son's birthday present.
$89 + $10 Hand Pick (all matching, correct stock, nice bore) and $11 shipping. $110 delivered.
Well worth it for his first rifle. He will be 15 in July, got it early so they wouldn't run out. M38's are a little harder to come by than 91.30 or M44's.

A word of caution too ladies and gents:

Make sure, if you find an older non import marked Mosin, that you check the head space on the unit.

    :-)

Stay safe and have fun shooting.
