Selecting a gun or a car or a house or a wife based on how they "look" has always seemed pretty silly to me.
I disagree. It takes the looks to get 'em and the personality to keep 'em.
    I'm glad I'm not blind...........

I agree with Colion. For a gun made in the 40's this is still one of the nicest looking semi-autos IMHO. Other than that, I like the looks of wheel guns.

Life is too short to shoot an ugly gun.

Along those lines a person was riding my butt one time about my choice in sidearms. They asked why I shot that outdated design. I asked them this question, do you remember the feeling you experienced the first time you got to Second Base? Yes! Well that is what it is like to shoot this pistol.

Does Mrs. VERT know about this?

I'll take performance over looks all day long. I've seen too many $1,000 pistols that only shoot FMJ, but fail on the modern ammo are too high maintenance. I'll take performance and simplicity all day everyday. Why have a pretty car you can't drive in the winter or a very petty wife who is lousy in bed? ;)

Well written article. I have to agree with Colin, most of my purchases are based on looks. Performance is 2nd. But everything I own has both, good looks and performance.
Probably why I have a weak spot for Performance Center, and Pro Series Smiths.
