We hate you because (paraphrased from the article):

1. You are disbelievers and reject Allah.
2. You make laws democratically rather than following sharia. Your societies allow many things that Allah forbids and prohibit others that our faith allows.
3. Atheists.
4. You allow freedom of speech to mock prophets of Allah (including Noah, Abraham, Moses, Jesus, and Muhammad).
5. For your crimes against Muslims- wars, drone strikes, etc.
6. For invading Muslim lands.

Those item are in order of importance:

What’s important to understand here is that although some might argue that your foreign policies are the extent of what drives our hatred, this particular reason for hating you is secondary, hence the reason we addressed it at the end of the above list.

We will stop hating you if:

1. You begin praying to Allah and observe sharia.

By the way, those reasons are also the foundation for the argument that they do not represent Islam. There are Muslim countries that have the same "issues."

There is wide variation within Islam, and certain interpretations that have been repudiated by "mainstream" Islam.

The world is not simple, regardless how hard we try to make it that way.
