It is getting really hard to find lead wheelweights. Almost all I have been getting are zinc.
Anybody know a source for lead wheelweights or pure lead and tin?

Over the years I've bought most of mine from scrap yards. It was soft lead that you can alloy with harder stuff like lino purchased online. Lino isn't cheap but you don't need a lot of it to harden up lead, particularly if you drop bullets in cold water. Anything being driven hard gets a gas check.

A friend GAVE ME 400lbs of lino and I bought a full bucket from another buddy for $50.00. Too good to pass up.

I made a deal with my local indoor range.
They have an ongoing, periodic issue with lead building up at the mouth of their traps, causing back splatter.
I get called in to clear the obstruction, and I get to keep what I clean out.
I don't cast myself, but have friends that do.
I give them bullet quality lead, and they give me back bullets.
    Works well for all involved.

Wheel Weights are out there if your willing to sort them. It's a pain the behind but it's cheaper than buying it in pre-made ingots.
Do you have to add anything to the wheel weights or are they the right consistency for molding projectiles? I wonder if you can just buy the right ones (presorted) at the scrap yard?

For normal cast bullets Wheel Weights work fine if you add 2% tin for good fill out. I've never bought any that were Pre-Sorted.

Most scrap yards anymore won't sell to individuals/ general public.
Not the ones in my area anyway.

Ive always traded with scrap yards, I bring in aluminum copper steel and swap for sheet copper or lead. Its easier if they know you.
If im cashing in 5 to 20 bucks in steel I give it back to pay for a pizza or two for the outside guys.
