My son and I plan on spending a weekend there this summer. (The girls will be there also but already have plans) What is there to do? He's 12 so no strip clubs or bars please.

While not a thing to do, but a cool place to stay is here: Its a boutique hotel, but at least for Hilton Honors members, they dont charge extra. Its where I stay when I visit our branch office down there.

The Sire was originally built as a hospital in the 1800s as I recall. A really neat building. And I believe all of the showers are the super fancy full body showers. You know, the ones you want to install but dont want to have to pay for the water bill? LOL

And the cemetery up the road is where Henry Clay is buried.

Although not in Lexington, the Woodford Reserve Distillery is just up the road in Versailles. A real step back in time.

Keeneland racetrack is old world horseracing, unless they modernized it in the last 30-40 years.

Don't brush off cameramonkey's comment about the cemetery. The Lexington Cemetery is a very beautiful place. Very common for people to take their picnic lunches there.

Has your son been inside an auto assembly plant? TMMK is right around the corner, and they do public guided tram tours of the facility (or used to). It's interesting if somebody has never seen it before, but I think it was only weekdays.

Got married in KY. When you apply for your marriage license they ask if you are related. I don't think they would deny you a license, they just want to keep their database up to date.
I read that and thought, "They deny you a marriage license if you aren't related? Wow, the jokes are true!"
