Ok, I'm looking for a muzzle brake with the main purpose of recoil reduction. It is going a .300 Winchester Magnum but it is a tapered barrel so the threads will have to be 1/2 x 28.

I don't want the brake to have holes in the bottom or the top because of dust kicking up or powder residue on my scope.

I think right now I'm looking at the Defensive Edge and the OPS, Inc brakes. anyone used either of these or maybe both?

Ray Saltzman in Tipton has his own design which works like a champ and is not a big chunk of metal hanging off the front of the barrel. I believe he's as good a gunsmith as you can find.
