Lets keep it outside the waistband, there are a ton of good IWB options. I am looking to get a holster for my glock 34 for competitive/defensive carry. I will have a 17 as a back up. My 34 is a gen4 the 17 I'm hoping to pickup is a gen3 Vickers. I see that the simple owb 7 dollar glock factory holster has positive reviews and will hold both. I was also looking to get a bladetech idpa pack for my 34, I know they are molded around the barrel end of the slide, but the 17 should fit just fine if I had to use it as a back up gun right? Any other options out there I should be considering?

Safariland ALS for open carry due to the retention feature.

    These are two great options.
The basic glock slide holster is decent, but is better suited for casual range use, unless your budget maxes out at $9.
Safariland non- ALS holsters are also good, but that Raven concealment (above) has better curves.
The G34 is a bit long for concealed OWB (not impossible, just a bit longer than I prefer for OWB concealed).
Galco has some affordable options that may fit your needs.
If it's a dedicated competition rig, Bladetech is a solid choice

My go to holster is the Kramer scabbard OWB in horsehide. They are a bit pricey but are worth every penny. Molded horsehide is almost kydex like in how it works, yet is still a leather holster with all of the benefits of leather. You can soak them in water and they won't deform or get soft.

To be honest I pretty much only conceal. However, I did get a couple OWB holsters to play with recently and so far I really like them. I have the Safari Land GLS holsters for a 17 and a 19. It's got retention which is one thing that I like about it, however unlike a duty holster or something with a thumb release it's at the middle finger so it releases when you get a firing grip. It comes so you can run it on your belt and paddle both also. It may be worth a look. It may just be me but for some reason OWB I like some retention depending on what I'm out doing.

I always conceal too. Owb or iwb. Just depends on what I feel like, then I just wear the right clothes to pull it off. I don't wear any of that tactical clothing crap though.

I have and still do own my share of Glocks, but this truly made me laugh out loud when I saw it.

Glock and a SERPA is like peanut butter and jelly.

They carry great just stuck into the waistband as well.
