    found these in one of dads toolboxes. all inside edges are sharp, knurling present on solid end. marked 1/16 to 3/4 in 1/16 increments.

    i believe you're right. i just took a close look at one that had some blockage at the open end and found these little paper discs, looks like they had been punched from a magazine.

    That is a nice set, clean them up and make a core box for them and you can pass them down to great great grand sons.
