I bring up the point I'm sure many don't follow the Quran so closely. I'm sure we can all think of many Christians who have committed the sins of adultery, who have worked on Sunday, and who have "coveted" things his neighbor owns. Some pretty weighty sins in the Biblical order, but not that much in the morals of the United States. Many old taboos seem rather silly in the modern world.

This is how one would defeat a religious enemy. You can't kill a religion. You can destroy a culture. A gradual westernization of the Middle East would do more towards eliminating radical Islam than military action ever did. Television, radio, fast food, and cheap consumer goods would do more to undermine the radicals than bombs and bullets ever could.

While this is probably true, the implication you're making is that if we would just stop bombing and shooting them, the radicals would stop bombing and shooting at us and would not interfere with our cultural re-make of their culture. This discounts the fact that they already routinely bomb and shoot ANYONE who doesn't agree with their ideas of proper comportment.

I don't really care one way or the other as long as anyone who wants to get out of class for 8 minutes to "pray" can do so. I'm curious where Atheists come down on this.

I'll bet none of them have the balls to get "offended" by this particular violation of their interpretation of the "Separation clause."

I'm an atheist/agnostic... whatever you want to define me as.... and couldn't care less.... Anyone can pray in school. The problem is when the school system engages in prayer or arranges activities around religious traditions.

I wouldn't care if there was Religious clubs... as long as they are not being funded by the school system.

Other atheists/agnostics don't agree. Bible studies have been forbidden, after-school prayer groups have been forbidden, quiet prayer is forbidden in some places. Betcha I'm right about the lack of objection to special treatment for muslims in schools, though.

    :+1: Well said!

Unfortunately, I would expect this to be the case.

I think most of us who have a casual attitude toward religion share your opinion. My curiosity is mainly for the Atheists who like to spell "Atheist" with a big 'A', the militantly anti-Christian types.

I think anytime you have two groups of humans with competing ideas... feelings amplify. Occasionally someone who had a "casual attitude" transforms into a militant type.

We see it here on INGO all the time....

Being that I've not seen everything on the net , I don't know if there's a site that chronicles "Christians" CURRENTLY killing anybody but I haven't found it yet .

I have however , found a site that tracks muslims around the world spreading their "religion of peace" , and these jokers are busy .

Islam: Making a True Difference in the World - One Body at a Time

    Monthly Jihad Report
    May, 2013 Jihad Attacks:
    77

    Countries:
    25

    Religions:
    5

    Dead Bodies:
    1423

    Critically Injured:
    2667

These peaceful ambassadors ran this poor guy over and cut his head off in the middle of the street and NOT one person did anything about it .

I asked the folks on a British site about it and got this response

" This is how it works.

It's the school's job to educate and socialise your children.

It's the NHS' job to keep you healthy.

It's the police' job to deal with any crime.

The State grows, not by seizing our Rights ... but by assuming our responsibilities.

We Brits have few avenues along which we may exercise any personal responsibility, unfettered by State' Regulation. We are born into subservience and spend our formative years immersed in the dogma of Statism.
I'm convinced that this is reason that so many people are unhappy ... their only "responsibility" is the payment of taxation, enabling "professionals" to perform the functions that should be the remit of every man and woman. The State has robbed our lives of purpose.

Did you ever see Logan's Run?

There's some scenes in which Sandmen are pursuing various miscreants ... well, watch the reactions of the crowds. Complete passivity.

Did the Jews ever resist the police/soldiers ... or did they go meekly? (discounting that brief resistance in Warsaw)

How many Colonials fought? They say, 3%.

How many Frenchmen resisted? Almost none, when their claims are examined " . end quote

It's sad IMO , that this is where we (US) are heading .

TOO damn many folks scared of not being PC that we can't call evil , evil .

Plenty of white folks started protesting the klan and where are they now ?

IMO the moderate mulims are just as guilty as the radicals .
