When I see this argument, I am mystified by the people who think Trump supporters should be the ones to roll over for what those people believe to be the greater good but who never even think that maybe THEY should be the ones to roll over to ward off what they believe is an such an existential threat. It makes me think they are unserious and raising the issue is just a stratagem, else they would acknowledge there is more than one solution to that problem
I will never "roll over" for a man who is a 2-time existential threat to a Republican majority in the US Senate. Also, I find zealots who are so enamored of their guy that they are unwilling to consider anything even approaching negative about him a bit off-putting.

And if/when Trump doesn't get the Republican nomination for the presidency, I think that his ego will demand that he run as a 3rd party candidate, with his acolytes gleefully supporting him in his quest for his 3rd existential threat; any hope of a non-Democrat in the White House in 2024.

Then 'you pays your money and you takes your chances', because Trump supporters aren't rolling over either

Are you overstating the existential nature of the situation? Otherwise one might think you would alter course to attempt to head off the problem (after all, your own actions are the only ones you can control)

Or you can bitch at Trump supporters while giving little or no consideration to your own part in how events play out. I wouldn't count on Trump supporters bailing you out so you can put another country club republican go along to get along in the big chair

    Lecture on the wonders of DeRomneyis incoming in 3 ... 2 ... 1 ...

So you think that if the majority of Republicans nominated someone who isn't Trump, they should switch to Trump in the general election?

Hypothetical. No one yet knows who will be nominated because people don't seem to want to let the process play out before they start saying Trump supporters need to back their guy. If he does go third party I can't say I won't go with him. DeRomneyis doesn't have the fire, witness him walking back his remarks about Ukraine not being that important to US interests immediately as soon as there was even slight pushback

The point I wish to make is folks can't expect the 'vote for our guy or the Republican Party is toast' to work when they already want to blame Trump for the state of the Republican Party and offered only the most pro forma support when he was in the White House. I just don't see any reason to offer much beyond tepid support for their guy if they refuse to consider that maybe they're the ones who need to change. It's got to be a two way street, the 'I won't consider voting for Trump but you need to consider voting for someone else' just isn't going to fly. Obviously there hasn't been enough pain

Florida Republican Congressman Byron Donalds is endorsing Trump He says DeSantis is doing a fine job in Fla but Trump has the experience best suited to take on the challenges as POTUS . Says he's done it successfully before. Things are so bad now that we need someone with the experience who can hit the ground running on day one.

Using made-up names for someone one doesn't like is so poopy-headed. Immature . Trump-like.
Wait, let me go find the post where you told jamil the same thing in reference to him using porn star ****er instead of Trump

I'm sure you're consistent in your standards

Not really a name as much as a description. You choose to describe him as a winner. Are you calling him names? Was she not a porn star at the time of the ****ing? Presumably he paid her for her services. So I guess we could describe him as a ho ****er. If we were to combine both our descriptions how ‘bout we say he’s a winning porn star ****er? Or. If you’d rather have primary billing we could say he’s a porn star ****ing winner. Either way. Your call.

Was pointing out the hypocrisy of oze telling me calling people you don't like made-up names is problematic but him apparently having no problem with it when you do it - because he doesn't like Trump. Certainly Kutsistent

I knew that mentioning your name (or the Hegelian Dialectic) would summon you, but I was prepared

    Get thee behind me, jamil

I was referring to the elementary school trick of making up a "funny" word out of someone's name or physical features. Like "DeSanctimonious" or, "Horse Face", a la Trump. Now, if Jamil had called Trump "Mushroom Dick", that would have been out of bounds. IMO.

    Kut, indeed.
