There have been alerts through the jewelry store networks via DMP, one of the alarm manufacturers I work with. here is what they are recommending because what you saw is exactly what they are doing to them. cutting power and phone is the first step to disable the alarm system. (except the alarm panels have a battery so it still works. And the cellular backup will still phone home even if they cut the phone lines.

Setup central station alarm alerts for power outages, set to dispatch PD for an outage. Most agencies dont mind, and if they are rolling to your location will see the neighborhood is dark and do a simple drive by while they are there. No hits/fines for a false alarm because they realized what was up and didnt expend any serious manpower on the run. They are understanding this is a new-ish tactic.

And if you dont have a centrally monitored alarm, PM me. I know a company. What they did will not stop a properly installed alarm from calling home.
Also add some cameras with a uninterruptible power supply that will allow recording after the power is cut.

Cut the power, came through roof and ceiling of the business next door...They then tried to kick their way through the firewall separating our shops....They never got in to mine...I figure they ran out of dark or got scared....

Police left a couple of hours ago...processed the scene and Duke just got me up an running...MammyNun's down here helping me with a few things now...

    I'm livid....

Saw some stills of a couple of "gentlemen" that tried to steal some copper wire from a sub-station one time. Shame your story didn't have similar results.
I remember seeing something similar, probably the same ones. Let’s just say, they became one with the surrounding area, pretty much a puddle was all that was left.

Would have loved to watch the panic/frustration set in as they finally decided to call it quits.
    Like the saying goes,
"To be a fly on the wall..."

I'm sure it would be comedic gold.

Insurance going to pay for damages?
    Glad you are still intact.

Glad they didn't get to take your stuff.

It has gotten bad around NA, Clarksville and Jeff.

My church is the one on the hill off 265 and State Street. The Saturday before Easter at 1:00 in the afternoon some guys in a blue Ford pickup drove up, cut the lock and stole our trailer full of tools and lumber we use for our wheelchair ramp ministry. Locks are to keep honest people honest, but these guys...

Not saying criminals are smart, but why didn’t they just come through the ceiling of your shop? Glad all is OK. Seems like the flight from demo places is affecting many places. Getting some dirt from a friend putting in a pool a few weeks ago about 8 am in the middle of nowhere near DeMotte and I ran into a meth bust! Got to talk to and give one of the officers a good compliment when they were leaving. View attachment 141937

The lock on the shop door next to me can be opened from the inside without a key...Mine can't...Guns through ceiling to accomplice, out the door to waiting vehicle....

From my past experience I would say your right. Sorry they tried to get you Rick, Glad they didn't make it in. Check with Michael tire and Fisher next door maybe one or both has security cameras that might have picked up something.
Police are on it but with KFC...best chance of getting the vehicle and them getting on the roof....

When on the roof is it obvious that they were trying to get into the neighbors business first or was their geography just bad? I was not able to tell from the pics just where or how they cut the power.
Yes...Thy thought he was the target at first but it appears they just slipped off of the i beam and knocked out the panels and cracked his I beam on their way to me....

That would involve some pre planning to know which locks could be opened from the inside to facilitate easier loading of goods.

Any cameras in use before the power was shut off? Hopefully they can match someone up to prior days doing a scouting run, or atleast a vehicle type
