Watched ten P229's in 40 and/or 357 sell on GB last night from $394.99 to $1000 with an Elite Dark that sold for $1425 (??).

Average price was $677 before fee.

I probably should have bid on a couple.

Not sure the point of my post....but there it is!

Are there still a lot of them that are in practically unissued condition that are only a few years old?

A year ago when I ended up overbidding and getting "stuck" with more P229 .357Sig/40's than I'd planned on, there were some that were like new.
These are great pistols!

Seems like a decent supply of any condition LNIB to trashed. I would guess the LNIB selection is slowly diminishing.

Good to know.
But people who have getting one of these are their "bucket list" need to get with it.
Or they'll wake up one day and they've dried up, with the only ones available from private sellers at a higher price.

To be really cool, you really need the P229 and P239 in 357 Sig. With the shorter barrel, the fireball from the P239 is very impressive for guests shooting with you.

As I recall the main difference is the P228‘s slide is folded carbon steel vs the P229’s stainless. So the 228 is a little lighter and better balanced. But the 229 is more durable.
