    Throw the switch as the railcar's front wheels pass, causing a derailment immediately after the switch, saving all.

    Then again, I see this as a technical issue rather than a moral on. My psych prof rolled his eyes a LOT in college.
    If you are looking at it as a technical issue, why do you assume the intent was to save a life? Maybe girl is correct and the question is "which one(s) do you kill? She demonstrates some thinking outside the box.

    That can also happen if you have a metal end on the tow strap.
    Drape something across the strap, like an odd piece of carpet end.
    Yes. But even so I don't think it would have dampened the strap enough to keep us from laughing at it. That stump was gonna fly regardless.

    I heard an idiot on the radio say how exciting it was that there was new space exploration happening.

    A couple of minutes in space for a billion dollars is not space exploration, it is a really high priced roller coaster ride.
    Remember when the Wright brothers first flew an airplane for couple minutes?
    Yeah, I don't either. :)
