So when I saw this article I thought that using the gun safe to provide a little peace during those teenage years could be a selling point. Is that wrong?

Yes I read that. I think of "fail safes" as relockers on a safe. I don't remember hearing the term used in connection with safes.

Maybe they should have put a new battery in the keypad.
