Anyone in B-town see them? It appears someone is flying them around and I caught a comment on the radio about them.

I predict a surge in tarp sales in B-town if this becomes normal.

Bloomington is filled to the brim with drones.

One need only hang around campus for a little while to realize that.

i used to be a courier and drove back and forth between Columbus and Bloomington. a couple years ago i saw a drone doing flybys over the tree line along sr46? (is that the right road?) it was going back and forth quite low and fast. if i hadn't been driving i would've tried to get a photo. to be honest it scared the crap out of me. i couldn't help but wonder what would happen if they crashed it into a house. the drone was literally a few feet from the tree line. i've also seen a drone over the Muncie area a few years back. they are already everywhere. we're just now being told about them.

My info is three years old now, but back in 2010 the Army Aviation Flight Facility, the State Aviation Officer, and the FAA Airspace Management team were collaborating on airspace allocations and restrictions for the UAVs being flown out of CP Atterbury. I don't know what was decided or when such agreements were to go into effect, but I'd be surprised if Bloomington was included in authorized overflight areas.

I believe those drones are owned by the DNR. They are used to monitor wildlife in the secret " a guy at the gun shop told me" Cougar,Bear and Wolf reintroduction program.
