Schools will soon be taking one more step closer to becoming prisons in New York. The latest bills would make cheating on tests into misdemeanors or even felonies. Lawmakers also want to mandate that the students produce fingerprints, retinal scan, and a mandatory facial recognition/barcode ID card known as "Digital DNA." Then the inmates can get used to going around with a barcode around their necks and scanning themselves in at checkpoints.

'Digital DNA' May Soon Be Required To Take SAT And ACT ExamsThe measure proposed by Sen. Kenneth LaValle of Suffolk County would create new felonies of facilitation of education testing fraud and of scheming to defraud educational testing and create a misdemeanor of forgery of a test. The felonies would apply to a test taker who impersonates someone else for pay.
The bill also calls for photo identification and other ways to prove the test taker matches the name on the test. Other potential test security measures include fingerprinting and retinal scans.

“All of that is uploaded to an I.T. system of wireless connections called the ‘CLOUD,’” Dr. Hayward said.
The student’s unique digital DNA code is created and assigned to an ID card with covert authentication marks printed onto it. Proctors can verify instantly with a simple UV light and smart phone scan.
