This is the pride of my WWII Japanese collection, and I've decided to let it go. Here we have a 25th Series Kokura Type 99 Last Ditch rifle that is all matching and all correct with its Mum intact. This was the final series made before the end of the war, so they were made in far fewer numbers than most other Arisakas. Also included is an original Japanese Katana sword brought back by the veteran. It has signature of Bishu osafune ju Munemitsu, which dates it to the mid 1400s. That being said, this sword is well over 500 years old! It has a very cool Horimono carving on the blade. The veteran also engraved his info on the blade, which reads:
"From World War II while serving with the United States Marine Corp - Entering April 20, 1944 - Discharge July 17, 1946 Denis B Kemper 561922"
and
"Made by Munemitsu, Osafune, Bishu, (illegible) 470 years ago year of 1476 A.D. worth 75,000 Yen"
I was originally just selling the Arisaka and had planned on keeping the sword, but decided that they should go together. The sword is obviously rough, but is still a rare find. Especially being over 500 years old. It could be restored, which is what I had originally planned to do with it. I'm asking $1000 for the package. Located in Jeffersonville.
The only trades I'd consider are original Civil War through WWII milsurp guns. US, German, Russian, Finnish, Japanese. I'm particularly looking for a nice Japanese Type 14 pistol with holster.
Things I'm not interested in: modern guns of any kind, shotguns, non milsurps, ammo.
