...in Indianapolis - “What's upsetting to me is, if you look at the month of January, I think we had 18 homicides during that month,” said Marion County Prosecutor Ryan Mears. “Fourteen of those were being investigated for self-defense, meaning that someone lost their life, and that case might ultimately be cleared. But that doesn't do anything for that family who lost someone."

Thankfully we have pro-gun attorney Guy Relford (of "Tthe Gun Guy" radio show) in town.

The Marion County Prosecutor needs to be replaced.

The inability of most journalists to think logically and coherently is staggering.
Actually, I think the "journalists" of the MSM are thinking logically and coherently. You just have to remember that the narrative they are promoting is to strip the citizenry of their civil rights (especially the first and second amendments) in order to introduce an authoritarian central government. Once you understand their goal, their actions make sense. This is how propaganda works.

What does quoting a statement by the prosecutor have to do with the ability of journalists to think logically?
Would not that reflect on the prosecutor?

Quoting someone else may infer that they can't form an original thought of their own.

Obviously the cited article is not purely just a quote. The tone of this article is clear. It wraps up with underhanded suggestions that contradict current state law. It's clear this particular author has an agenda, or is paid to express someone elses. They are using these quotes from people with authority to bolster the stance of their article. Those suggestions that reflect said agenda are not logical.

Seems like it wasn't that long ago Boss Hogg was doing a victory lap since murders were down (to 171 IIRC) significantly even though homicide numbers were well over 200.

That was 2023 numbers. What happened on 1 July 2022 again? Oh yeah, Indiana became the 24th State with Constitutional Carry of handguns.

There is a VIOLENCE problem in Indianapolis as there is in many large (and some not so large) cities around the country. Justified homicide numbers being up means a lot of people had a good reason (prevent loss of life, serious bodily injury, force-able felony; to prevent or terminate illegal entry into an occupied home or motor vehicle) to take a life.

While it's a good thing citizens are able to defend themselves, the prevalence of violent predators is a serious problem that won't be fixed anytime soon.

It will be with enough self defense shootings. Just saying. You kill the violent offenders and they can’t do it again.
