On my SBR I've mounted many different RDS's & holo's at 1.57" & 1.93". I'm fininshing out a stubby AR9 project (no irons). I'm undecided on RDS mount height. I like the lower profile of the 1.57", but my MRO on a Scarlar 1.93" was super boss. I'm leaning 1.93", but want to hear others' opinion/pro-cons.

    Thanks -

I like the taller mounts. I'm using unity mounts they're 2.26" I was worried it would be too tall, but I like it gives a solid chin weld. I don't think I could go back to co-witness or even 1/3, plus the flip to center mount is awesome.

1.93 would be my preference have a couple 1.93 mounts I also have a unity mount wich is also very nice , the more "heads up" shooting position is great , I feel a better weld to the gun with the 1.93 but it's just a tradeoff

The platform is a “backpack gun;” 5” bbl, can & folding stock. I think I can get the 1.93 to fit. So, I will NOT do 1.57”. Thanks for helping me noodle this out.

Being someone with high cheekbones, I've never had amazing luck with "high" mounts, but the 1.93" has been good since at least its a natural neutral head position. I'm still waiting to get nods to test it.
