Sandhill Cranes

Heard my first Sandhills of the "spring". I live in N.W. Johnson Co.

first i seen them down here was 2 weeks ago.......they seemed confused they flew in a circle for about 20 min's over my place.......maybe they don't know if it spring or winter yet??????

They are here in Cass County, having trouble flying because of the wind. I always think it's our dogs barking and making noises at first. I think they are cool.

If you've ever seen one up close they're really beautiful birds. I often hear them flying over while deer hunting, so whenever I hear them they remind of being in the woods.

They are over my house all the time. Love the sound. I'm not far from a protected nesting area.

Had literally hundreds of sandhill cranes fly over throughout the day. It's amazing how far you can hear them as they approach before you see them.

They seem to hover and switch direction without turning... amazing watching a flock overhead this morning.

Heard them over Crawfordsville today.None spotted though.

Three big passes early yesterday afternoon, 50/60 in each one. Spring is just around the corner.

Saw 100's of them around Wheatfield on the way to the Valpo gun show yesterday, like flying dinosaurs.

There were about 20-30 of them flying over downtown Indy yesterday.

I read years ago that the Jasper -Pulaski game preserve was established so the cranes had their nesting area.
