So id like to get a sa shotgun, 12 ga. Ive seen cz's, weatherby's amd ithaca's for around 400 or just a tick more. I was kinda surprised the pricing was so low....assuming theres a reason.

I'd love to be able to spend the $$$ for a benelli, but thata just not gonna happen. Heres what id like:
    - gas operated
    - camo or gloss wood/ high blued
    - factory recoil pad
    - hold its value
    - reliable
    - spare part availability
    - 2-3/4" only is fine
    - no rifled slug barrel

I initially looked for an 11-87, but the cheapest i found was $500 and it wasnt that great a shape.

I tried to use search function but i cant get it to work on my phone.

Any experiences with cz, weatherby or ithaca sa shotguns are greatly appreciated!

I really like my Beretta 1201 FP. It is recoil operated, not gas. Smooth bore and can be painted to whatever pattern I want..

    What is a "sa" shotgun?

    Semi-Auto (assuming because 'gas operated')

spend a little more and get a REM 1100
or spend a lot more and get an M4

Although it isn't in your price range, I bought a Mossberg 930 SPX Blackwater Edition several months ago and just love it! It is very balanced and the pistol grip lets me carry it one handed comfortably...feels like I'm holding a large pistol. It has shot every type of shell I've had without jamming. It is a blast to shoot... 8 - 12 ga. shots in 3+ seconds! Damn, I like it!

Yeah i thought about an 1100...most of the ones i saw didnt have a recoil pad. I know, i can put a pachmyr on it but lime the look of the factory ones.

SA means semi-auto...does not indicate inertia or gas operated though.

Berette crossed my mind until i saw the pricing. I thought berettas were supposed to be cheaper...not the ones i found! I'll look again though.

Remington 1100 magnums came with factory recoil pads :)
Just swap the bbl out for a 2 3/4" and it'll be fine except for the wussiest of loads.
3" magnum bbls have one gas port, 2 3/4" bbls have two.
Magnums have a heavier action sleeve.
    All else the same.

what about a Remington 11-87 Premier? It's a 20g though, kinda want a 12, but if I could get it for the right price I'd be pretty tempted.

Well i got the 20ga 11-87 premier tonight with 3 choke tubes. It matches my wingmasters real nicely. Its got the glossy wood, high polish bluing, gold trigger and enhanced engraving. Has a few very small knicks in the wood. Twin beads on the vent rib and the original box. Lookin forward to shootin it!
