Just picked one of these up. Bought it online but it is local. Kind of excited to grab some old school Ruger goodness. Never owned one but familiar with them. Sort of a nostalgia buy. These seem to be creeping up in price as well. Now just have to pick it up. Woo hoo.

The best of my P-series group:
Ruger PP94DL, stainless with factory Hogue grips and factory laser (that still works).
    Also P89, P93, P94, P95, all decockers.
Ugly (to some people), heavy, not glamorous, mostly accurate, utterly reliable.
Agreed with all here .........and one can hardly beat the price of what you can pick these up for .
I do like those grips . May have to look into those . Big fan of Hogue ,especially on my AK`s .

I used to occasionally carry a Ruger P97 DC .45 many moons ago. It’s long gone from my collection, but if I see one in the display case of a shop one day, it might come home with me for nostalgia’s sake. I haven’t seen one in years.

Seems like the P97 variety command a premium compared to the 95. Probably a lot less out there but I would like to add one as well. This might be the start of a collection. Ha ha.

I got a few police turn-in P94DCs not long ago for $180 each, including Trijicon night sights.

Nearly all of mine wear aftermarket Hogue grips, except the P95DC - it has a slip-on.

I have that same pistol, had it forever. Great shooting gun.

Got you beat! How about a one owner with low miles!…me being the one owner! Purchased 32 years ago, my first gun, bought it brand new, paid 429 plus tax back in 90, got a ton of mags, couple of holsters, but she sits in the safe, replaced by newer better pistols, but she will always hold a special place in my heart!

Congrats on the acquisition of an old-school 9mm pistol! Still a quality firearm!
I've owned several Ruger P-Series pistols over the years...now down to just 3 of them...
preferring the newer polymer frames of the P-95 9mm and the P-97 .45 acp pistols.
I don't shoot them much but wouldn't hesitate to EDC one in a heartbeat if it was necessary!

I bought a P85, in around 86, clunky, and heavy, but it shot great, just didn't like the safety (too wide) they corrected it down the line, always wanted a 89, or 95... Congrats on a good find on a great gun! Shoot, enjoy, repeat...often...

I had P85 p89 p94 p95 and p97, you could drag any of them through the mud and they'd still function flawlessly. I wish I had kept a couple of them
