The ability of an employee to possess a firearm on his/her employers property, is usually covered in a "Work Rules and Terms of Employment" document. An employer offers prospective employees a job, subject to these rules, and the employee agrees to abide by those rules, by accepting the offer of employment.
For example, if one of the terms of employment read, "Possession of alcoholic beverage on company property is prohibited", then if a 6 pack is seen in your car, your employer may take action.

If you do not have a copy of your employers "Work Rules and Terms Of Employment" document, ask your HR department of a copy. Most people are shocked to find out just what they agreed to, when they went to work for their employer, and I wouldn't be supprised to hear that some of you even agreed to having your car searched by your employer for any reason, any time it is parked on company property.
This would make the right to have your gun in your car at work a moot point, because your employer made a rule prohibiting it, and you agreed to follow that rule, by accepting the job offer.

    Exactly.
