Rep System Go Haywire Overnight?

OK, so what is up with the rep system? I just noticed that almost all the people I have checked have 5 yellow badges, 5 gray, and 5 brown, and then below they have 5 dark green, 5 light green, and 5 yellow pips. I thought only my rep had jumped up, but now I see that is is almost everyone. What's going on?

OR, maybe the people you happened to check, have maxed out. There are several in this thread (for example) who have not:

Yes. Got rep from one person, but it shouldn't have bumped me up that much.

I have never done the rep begging. But gracious folks like bunnykid68 have shot me reps as I have participated in general discussions on different threads. I was supprised to see my reps at the level you mentioned but really bunnykid68 certainly helped put me up there by showing some love so to speak.
