Thats awesome. It's a step in the right direction whether it's more people owning guns or more people owning up to it because it's more acceptable these days. Either way I like it.

Im willing to bet population has reached a 20 year high also

True... but it is a percent, so gun ownership per capita is at a 20 year high....

More people, but more guns per person...

I found this link in the article interesting, illustrating an even greater trend over a longer period of time pertaining to opinions on handgun bans: http://www.gallup.com/poll/150341/Record-Low-Favor-Handgun-Ban.aspx

The opinion that strict gun control is the answer is not as widespread as some would like us to believe....

Notice that banning "assault rifles" is not even agreed with by the majority....

I've been doing my part to raise that percentage lately. Been finding sweet deals on Gunbroker. Maybe that's it. It's never been easier to find the exact gun you want.

I recently returned from a trip to China and an associate there mentioned that he had never seen a real gun in person (he is in his thirtys); I checked out every cop I saw for 2 weeks and never saw a gun (apparently only senior or SWAT type may have).:(

You all know what this means, only the criminals have guns!:draw:

Watching the news and the recent success by fighters in Libya, I noticed that CNN had repeated calls for the loosely organized rebels to turn in their guns now that Kadhafi was dead?:noway:

There are too many that will not be happy until the US and all nations ban gun ownership. I think this is ignorance based; everyone teach a friend to shoot a gun and maybe that 50% gun ownership can move towards 100%.:ingo::patriot:

I think some of the increase in gun ownership is the decreasing power of the gun hating wing of the Democrat party. There are more pro-gun democrats in congress now than I can recently remember. I tell my pro-gun Democrat friends to talk to other Democrats and show them how to shoot.

That is good news. Is there any poll on the percentage of people who have multiple firearms? An armed citizens are our best defense to freedom
