Of course they are. If you had a pizza place and someone stole your cheese you would order more cheese to replace it and both batches would be an expense you can deduct…

I'm pretty sure loses from casualty or theft is tax deductible. They wouldn't necessarily recoup all the loses though. So yeah, that would just be passed on to the consumers.

No. It is not OK at all. People bringing up tax deductions and insurance does NOT make it OK, just discussion. Everything about this costs more for honest people and that, of course, is wrong.

No it's not ok. But the premise is not correct. The people stealing are not customers who will be charged more to cover costs.

Close the stores and walk away. Maybe a CVS will move into the empty space...
