There are serious rumors about the ATF doing the same thing to pistol braces as they did to bump stocks (see link below, as a member of congress Matt Gaetz has some credibility on this). Most people didn’t get too upset about bump stocks getting banned, but far more people own AR pistols with braces. Given that they banned bump stocks without any change in the law, and despite having previously issued guidance that bump stocks were legal, the ATF has set a precedent of banning previously legal items.
To any of you who own or may want to acquire pistol braces, are you going to proactively change your approach? Does this make you want to get rid of your brace(s) before a potential ban or acquire them sooner in the hope of existing owners being grandfathered in as legal, like ARs and 30 rd magazines under the original Clinton assault weapons ban of 1994?
