Remington Ultimate Defense. It's mid-priced (well, it was) and has good ratings, and it's available consistently for all calibers of handguns I own.

HST and Speer Gold Dots, standard pressure 124 or 147 grains for 9mm. They used to be very reasonably priced. I'm carrying ammo I bought a couple years ago for less than 50 cents per round. Still sitting on an okay amount but I replenish when I can find it in stock.

Also have some Sig V-Crown I bought during the current panic but haven't shot any yet so can't speak on it.

HST, Golden Sabre, Gold Dot. These have been proven to work in actual shootings.

None hollow point would be WFNGC bullets in whatever caliber I'm using.

Another Federal HST user here for 9mm and .45ACP.

Good terminal performance and they feed well in my pistols and AR9's.

Winchester Silver Tip. Plus, it doubles as a werewolf round. Seriously though, it has great ballistics and is a great round. It got a bad rap after FBI blamed it for some bad shoot outs, but many have reviewed that data as being subjective and a scapegoat.

At this point it's hard to be choosing Whatever they have with a hole in the end of it...Lol just kidding. HST is good and I like Silvertips as well when you can find them. Super Vel makes some good stuff too

I received several hundred Hornady XTP bullets with their promotion. They are accurate and expand perfectly. Could I bring myself to buy any at $30 per hundred? I don't know

Something from this list - http://www.ar15.com/ammo/project/self_defense_ammo_FAQ/

The mid-weight HSTs seem to perform really well across barrel lengths (from short or duty-length barrels).

I'll add that Lucky Gunner has also done LOTS of data gathering here and provides it in an excellent fashion

Take your pick on the type of firearm, barrel length, & ammo.
    Sort by penetration, expansion, what-have-you

9mm Speer Gold Dot 115 grain HP. No particular reason other than it's a reputable brand, I tried them and they functioned reliably in my pistols.
