    Sleep? Nope!

Some exitement down the street. Sirens! Lots of lights! Kind of a rare thing for me to see here these days.
Very quiet place, this street is normally.

Person, unknown to me, but a neighborhood dweller was being readied for an ambulance ride.
He was fighting the EMTs, trying to get off the gurney and go home, screaming insanely.

More to this than a physical medical issue, obviously. Feel bad for the wifey trying to calm him.

EMTs stuck him 3 times with something after I got curious and came out.

Not sure why they needed a fire truck, three police, in addition to the EMT folk just to corral on old demented fellow.

We were ready for our firepit night, before I wimped out over the windy conditions.

Had my trusty old 3ft by 1.5 ft serving tray all loaded up, ready to serve.
    I thought I might post a pic.

    Love this old thing!
It's fifty years old, handmade in Mexico, birch wood, really light, but sturdy and almost an inch thick.
Big enough that you can overload it and picking it up, loaded down with food stuff, it can become a bit much to carry.

This pic was taken just after I lightly steelwooled off the old darkened shellac finish and hit it with a modern poly. That really brought the decorations back to life.
Other side is plain, but you can see the seven planks of wood glued together, just so, to make the thing.

Not anything special, but I am proud to still own it after fifty years.
Besides, now we have an actual use for it! It's our firepit caddy for all things foodwise bound toward the pit area.

    I like this old thing!

Seems they hit the old fellow with enough haloperidol or something. I saw them inject him three times.
Finally he mellowed and they got him into the ambulance. No more fuss.

Exitement over. Noise done. Lights gone.
    I can maybe sleep, now.

    Night all.

I cleaned a couple of .22s that didn't need cleaning.
Chose those two because I could not remember the last time I freshened the oily spots with new oil.
    Smelling sweet again.
