    smoke and mirrors......I just spent 10 minutes looking like a ninja with tourette syndrome. (cursing and all)

    :D:D It works, it requires incredibly fast movement. I'm a fit guy, and after trying this for a while, I was in a world of pain for days later. But it DOES work!

    What is the reason for doing this?

    It's a way of doing a one handed load when the gun starts in an unloaded condition. Not the way, just a way.

    If you go back to page one of this thread, in a USPSA match, Rob was shooting a stage where the pistol was unloaded and magazine out of the gun. The support hand was occupied by holding a bucket (stage requirement). He shot the stage measurably quicker than shooters of equal skill.
