Does anyone recognize this style of handguard? I have a pretty old AR with a 24" barrel that I would like to swap the handguard out for one with M-lock or something so I can run a bipod and I am not 100% sure how to remove it. I am assuming that once I remove the gas block, I can heat the rear and screw it off but just want to make sure before i take a run at it.

Yes, that looks like an old DPMS Panther type fore end. Easy to remove. Might not need to heat it up either if it has been shot much. I doubt Roksett was used.

Bring it by the shop. I'm just north of Brownsburg...
