I know its not legal to carry in certain state buildings, but what about the BMV? Does anybody know? I've never seen a no firearms sign posted like on other state buildings.

    Perfectly legal.

Pretty much, although there are a couple(I think no more than 3 or 4 if that) of BMV branches that are owned and ran by cities. It was a compromise when the BMV was closing down branches to save money a couple of years ago. Some places complained and they were given the option to keep them open under contract from the BMV. Those could have local ordinances against it. At least until July 1.
I have OCed in my local branch with absolutely no problems before.

There's a couple of other threads on this subject.
