They lost internet. I've been texting back and forth with her mother much of the afternoon. The family is safe, in a hotel, in a little tourist town. Grandfather had heart surgery last week so he doesn't want to try to cross over the mountain pass.

By the way, DASHA WON THE GOLD MEDAL. She is the new ACC Women's Saber Champion. Honestly I'm speeches. She has been crying for weeks, this past week has been especially bad with the actual attacks and her family fleeing their home.

But this little girl dug deep, won 13 of her 14 pool bouts to finish in 1st place during the first round of fencing before moving onto the direct elimination bouts. In the Semi-Final bout she defeated, by a score of 15-3, the only girl who beat her in the first round, and then went on to win the final bout 15-8. Heart of a warrior. Looks of a beauty queen. We consider her our second daughter and she considers us her adopted parents. NCAA medal winner. ACC Champion. And she is also a legitimate math genius who can calculate things in her head before I can even figure out how to plug them into a calculator.

Cabelas is flush with ammo this morning, the most I have seen on their shelves since pre pandemic. Prices are typical for the times with a few decent deals.

Most notable, they have a lot of 380 on the shelf.
