I don't know, but it's the first thing I thought of. When we were in the house before this one (12 years ago) we had one, and a couple of times the wind came in through the chimney and blew it out.Does anyone's furnace still have a pilot?

No furnace pilot here since 1999. I remember losing my furnace pilot some time back in the 90's on a near zero night. Had to call out Young Plumbing for an emergency service call. The bill was a little steep but they were prompt and got our heat working again.Does anyone's furnace still have a pilot?
Was this a crash or a blow over?
Blow over I think. Was this a crash or a blow over?
Maybe if the volume was not set at 11 fr every little thing people would pay attention when they were warned. The folks in the areas mentioned in these articles might disagree:

This I agree with 100%Maybe if the volume was not set at 11 fr every little thing people would pay attention when they were warned.
Me too, although last night sucked out in the hammock! This I agree with 100%
Honestly pay zero attention to any of these warnings anymore.
My first house had hot water heat and the unit was old. The pilot would go out several times per month and I was too broke, stupid or maybe both to get it fixed. On several occasions, I awoke in the morning only to find the heat had gone out during the night. The house was minimally insulated and the indoor temp would drop to 50 by morning with no heat running.I don't know, but it's the first thing I thought of. When we were in the house before this one (12 years ago) we had one, and a couple of times the wind came in through the chimney and blew it out.
Me too. I watch the storm from the garage or the kitchen window while my wife hides in the basement. This I agree with 100%

Daisy woke us up barking at about the same time my phone started going off. I grabbed a folding chair and my phone, and Mom and I and the dogs stayed in my tiny bathroom for a while. I already have a radio and a phone charger in there. One thing I did not have in there was a pair of glasses so I could see my phone. After it was over, I dug an old pair out of the ones I was going to give to Lions club and put them in the bathroom also. They will be good for reading labels anyway.Since I don't have a basement, I stuffed the dogs, cat, and myself into my little 6 by 6 bathroom when my phone started yelling at me about tornado warnings, so that was fun.
I know a good guy (kinda hand to mouth) that reloads, if no one local calls for it.I've got a few small bags of misc brass I'm giving away if anyone here wants it.
