Ive heard more than one Veteran say they are bothered by people saying "Happy Memorial Day" to them....

Cause that just sounds wrong.
Picked up son to take to karate last night and jedi asked him so what did he learn in school. He said ...

Did you know that memorial day is to honor those soldiers that did not get to become veterans.



Just another example of how well worth it private school is vs public.

Absolutely. And I abhor Memorial Day sales. WTF do dead soldiers have to do with cheap mattresses?

Lookie what I found. Picked up two of these 30x30 oak wall cabinets for $15 each. Going to stack them and make a pantry cabinet. 72" pantry cabinets are too tall for our space.

FYI all of the flags you see flying at half staff are wrong.

If you fly a flag fly it at full staff.

On Memorial Day raise it briskly to full staff and lower it slowly to half staff, raise it briskly to full staff at noon.

The flags are at half staff at federal sites due to some shooting somewhere westerns states I think. I saw the notice but did not read it

I suppose we should flyour flags at half staff in this area every day to honor the victims of senseless violence in Chicago.

Memorial Day weekend ... lots of beer, picnics, games and a big race in Indianapolis.

This is how my Uncle Al celebrates, and has been celebrating this way since he was a teenager. He was my mom's brother. Buried in a military cemetery in northern France, been there since the US invaded France to free it from the Nazis.

Probably should spend a few moments this weekend realizing that a lot of American's gave up their lives to keep us free.
