I also work on the stuff that controls the steel.
I've been zapped, and caught my clothes on fire. And melted one of those cappy plastic hard hats.
Yeah I have one of those in my locker for when I have to wear a face cage for extended periods because it balances it better. It only get a little above regular miserable hot over here

I think you are underestimating the drop in desired space.

You won't be seeing cranes downtown for new buildings for a while.

I don't miss going down there a bit. I doubt I ever will again on a regular basis
Right now the vacancies in Manhattan are sitting at 15.1% with over 68 million square feet available. Not sure where Chicago sits but I know it’s bleeding too.

We have 8 floors in a building downtown. We may need four going forward. The vacancies haven't even gotten close to starting as companies are still locked in leases. As those leases expire, look out.

    Piggybacking off this.

    Macy's at watertower is closing.
In addition the entire watertower mall and its associated office building next door is "for sale" by the current mall owner company!

The other side of this is going to be a lot of big cities are going to be hurting for money for a while. Should be interesting to see how they try to make up the revenue losses.
