Well all of you so proud of your withholding of financial resources from the NRA in the misguided belief this will remove WLP from the helm should read this giddy message.
"Shannon Watts, who founded Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America, said in a series of tweets that the bankruptcy dismissal "comes at the worst possible time for the NRA: right as background checks are being debated in the Senate."
"It will be onerous if not impossible for the NRA to effectively oppose gun safety and lobby lawmakers while simultaneously fighting court battles and mounting debt," said Watts, whose organization is part of the Michael Bloomberg-backed Everytown for Gun Safety."
Boy are they happy the NRA has been neutered...
Strangely, though I heard it on INGO, they don't seem to have any fear of the GOA...

The NRA does not need more money to lobby. The strength of the organization must be the ability to deliver the votes of the membership for or against a bill or a politician. I think Wayne can wear last years suit for that
Cry all you want, Wayne HAS to go. That is the minimum required change for the organization. If they want to poor mouth and try to force us to support the current board at the expense of accountability, they will have chosen unwisely
Someone needs to get a defacto politician rating system up and in their faces quickly. The NRA has two things going for it that make up the bulk if their power. 1. The rating system. 2. The ability to communicate that to the millions of members and 10s of millions of gun owners.
Every politician with a right leaning constituency wants the A rating because it establishes their conservative bonafides. If the NRA goes under, if we don’t have an organization step up with at least those two things, I think a lot of those politicians may feel like they have political cover to cave.
Totally agree. NRA is dead to me until at the barest minimum Wayne is OUT. The organization and I have nothing to discuss until this happens. He is the problem, his endless money sink of a wife is the problem, he needs to go.
It kind of feels like either politicians could basically buy a good rating or it was way to easy to get an A. Too many A rated politicians didn't really seem to be pro 2A.
Damn sure won't be the Senate. If several key Senators think they have cover, they'll kiss the statue of John Moses Browning with their hand stretched out behind them to collect their 30 pieces of silver.
If we avoid the onslaught of unchecked gun control, it will be because of the courts and not the Senate.
