I bought a 1800's percussion rifle. The nipple threads are gone. How would you fix that.
I have nothing to add. I only looked because it said nipple threads.
Free the nipple!Somehow I expected to see printcraft's picture in with a nipple thread.
I don't think you're blind. They used to be at MBS also and I couldn't find them.Hello,
Go toDixie Gun WorksTrack of the Wolf (https://www.trackofthewolf.com/list/item.aspx/64/3). They should have nipples with oversized threads. Order a couple and the appropriate sized drill and tap.
Just go slow and do it right. Use plenty of lubricant (some use syrup; I use engine assembly lube with ZDDP.)
Please show it off when you get it fixed!
Edited: I could be blind, but I didn't see 'em at DGW any longer.
Any publicity is good publicity…You will have to close the thread, think of a new headline & restart it in a few weeks.

Do they even make threaded tassels?I suspect threading nipples would hurt more than piercing them.
But he would have to update his profile pic. Please don't encourage him...Somehow I expected to see printcraft's picture in with a nipple thread.
