I thought this seemed like the place to put this, cause it's not 2nd amendment, politics, etc.

How School Shootings Spread - The New Yorker

This article doesn't stick with the normal "get rid of guns" or "they're crazy, so can't be understood".
    It may be right.
    It may be wrong.
But it's trying to look at the disease, and not the symptoms.

It basically starts to compare shooters (mass) to mob psychology.
People in mobs often act outside parameters that they would normally act.

WOW! Reading the dialog of that interview was intense! Some of the stuff that kid said really surprised and shocked me. Very sad, and it does show the true need mental health. Also due to some of the things he said while not impossible it doesn't fit the perfect bill for gun control. Using bombs for a start and things such as his comment about using a 22 and a shot gun to prove a point about not needing high capacity or "assault weapons" as I think he put it. And you can't ban all of the stuff to do with the bombs but we don't need to go down that rabbit hole. Guns are just an easy target for so many reasons (again not to rabbit hole here). But regardless it's nice to see the them talking about the real issue.

Bombings really are something that concerns me. It's much different than just an active shooter scenario!
