    I got negative rep over the weekend from a new user with only two posts. I thought you had to be a little more established before you could do that? :dunno:

    Ahh, ok. All my other rep had a little green symbol next to the feedback, but this one had a little square grey symbol.

    No, you didn't. There is no negative rep because older members were using it to punish new members for minor technical mistakes and eventually driving them off the site. The gray pip that you got is a "neutral" rep. He doesn't have enough rep power to apply a positive number of rep points to you yet. Negative rep shows up as a red pip.
