I have kids in their mid 30's. I have experienced a thing or two during that time. It is not so much that she got you the powder and primers, but what happens in the next 6 months will show the significance. If all of the sudden the gift is used for leverage to force you into buying something really big, or the gift is used for an excuse to justify continuous finacial responsibilty, you may have a problem. If everything is smooth 6 months down the road, you will truely know the gift is a good thing. That will be a healthy relationship. I hope you end up happy, and lucky.
