Sharpshooter
In an attempt to increase participation I am posting a summary of the May meeting. This is a typical meeting, lots of visiting and mutual support.
May 2015 INGO meeting minutes
The Bloomington area MSG 3 meeting was held Wednesday May 6[SUP]th[/SUP] at Trailhead pizza on 446. Seven people attended to include 3 ladies. One lady was a first time visitor. Welcome to her!
Fine food was had by all with much entertaining and educational discussion.
Some of the topics discussed were:
The use of Ballistol lube on guns and all other metal parts and the strong unpleasant odor it has.
Motorcycle safety and how one member has a broken arm due to an error on a car driver’s part.
A few discussions on driving safety and related stories of miss spent youth ensued.
Gardening and current planting,
In discussing a local recent murder, one member felt the crime was done near his home and how his home security system
Is done. He discussed his expertise in HD camera choices, a dedicated PC to run them all, also a free online program that works well for him.
Some of the ladies discussed the TWAW (The Well-Armed Woman) group and Nashville’s group also.
General discussions on family matters, job dislikes and updates ensued with a lot of humor injected.
One person brought in recipes to give away; making butter from powdered milk, and dehydrating eggs without a dehydrator. Handouts were sent home with each family.
Purity of storage foods were discussed and if non GMO foods were important in long term storage.
Current events in the news , the shooting skills of police in Texas, and current riots were discussed.
One member shared a photo of an old black powder pistol just acquired.
One lady spoke regarding rabbits and their care. Chicken raising was tied into the rabbit raising.
Then diseases and medical care were discussed. Homemade vinegar was discussed and herbal / plant uses for medicine. A promise of future printed vinegar recipes was made.
Once again moving the meeting was briefly discussed as they have no coffee, tea, or deserts here, and are expecting a lot of boaters in the summer to fill the place.
Nothing was decided so we shall meet at Trailhead again next month first Wednesday 3rd of June - unless online they decide otherwise.
Please bring ideas next month on where to move the meeting too. The place needs to have :
ample free parking,
a few soft movable seats,
a side room or back corner that is not crowded, big enough to hold our 6- 14 person group.
no TV’s or ones that can be turned off , and no loud music or singing at meeting time,
An a la carte menu (for all sorts of people: diabetics, kids, American, no spicy, many choices also). Our members range from “ just want pie and coffee” to a full meal with salad & deserts.
An average cost place is preferred with clean restrooms.
Open until at least 9 preferably 10pm.
Some members bring family and kids so an over 21 bar tavern-grill will not do
On the IU campus is not favored, as too many distracting students and no parking.
Any area or local town will be considered.
It would be nice to know how many members are from what areas so we could pick a central place. One person suggested we bring a map and draw dots to see the grouping,
Another suggested we have a summer place and a winter place, each for 6 months of meetings.
One idea was to add a spring and fall picnic where we meet outside and “ do “ something, like shoot, learn knife skills, mapping etc. while having a pitch in picnic.
This would need to be at a park, on private property, or a range. Ideas are welcome.
The meeting adjourned about 9:30 as normal. A good visit and much humor was had by all. All are welcome June 3[SUP]rd[/SUP] 2015 6-9pm
