I'm not talking to other headsets. Maybe a phone conversation, if it worked well.

My Sena is used only for streaming from the Samsung.

    :)

I've not taken a call on mine but the intercom and bluetooth to my phone works very well.

I'd like a set that is good for music.
When I got back into riding, I got a new helmet, (Harley Davidson Ultra light) and it has places to put little speakers on pouched on the ears.

Please report back on how the sound works with that helmet.

I've often worried that I have a tendency to pick noisey helmets? Sound is good, until I hit 70mph and up. Above 70 the sound for me is competing with wind noise.

I use No-Noise ear plugs inside a Shoei Neotec II helmet with the built in Sena unit. The ear plugs block the wind roar while still allowing me to hear conversation and music. In fact, the music sounds better with the ear plugs than without.

When I still had my bikes, I spent a lot of my time in the garage when the weather was'nt optimal for riding and look at then, polish on them, tinker with a few things while drinking a few beers and listening to the radio. It was a bonding thing that non cycle enthusiasts don't get.

2023 wasn't terrible for some time out.

April 2023 on the old airhead. Chilly & foggy on Cherohala but warmed up nicely down toward Suches.

June 2023. Headed over backroads to top of Skyline and then down BRP. Foggy as heck once the torrential rain started but still good. Built in Sena died on the helmet. It was time for a new one at J&P in G'burg.

September/October 2023. Annual trip to meet friends down in Maggie Valley. Couple of us split off for a run out to Eureka Springs. Around 2,800 miles on the airhead. Probably won't do that distance on that bike again but nice to do it once.

The R nineT (noticeably absent from any trip) became a mechanical albratross. She is gone. Her replacement, a Thruxton 1200R, is here.

I have the same headset and it’s been flawless even in a three-way pairing with CarPlay on my Africa Twin and an iPhone 14 Pro Max. I paid for more for mine, and I think it’s worth every penny. The big JBL drivers that come with it have plenty of punch.

I purchased the Edge last summer when my built-in died on a Sena Savage helmet. I still have a SMH20S and SMH10. I actively use the 20s still.

Pros of the Edge: Lower profile. Better app to control. Much better dynamic range for music.
Cons: Can be finicky about bluetooth connection. Overall volume is several degrees lower than the Sena 20s and 10. If you have a loud helmet and/or no windscreen, it will be a challenge to hear over 65-70 mph. This would have probably changed my purchasing decision to Sena.

Neutral - you can connect to a Sena user with the Edge for comms. The audio quality is awful to hear the Sena but the Cardo sounds good to the Sena user.

I have had that same look since I got my FXSTS 2004 that I had ordered and picked up Oct. 9 2003. When I park in a big lot I try to not be close to any cars or trucks. That way I can walk away 30 or 40 feet and then turn around and look at it again. Jim.
All of mine but one are swingarm FX models, when I park one at a big run or rally, folks always ask why I didn't take a pic of where I parked. I laugh and say its easy to find an FX in a sea of baggers...
