Saw this and had to have it. It’s sat on my desk as a conversation piece long enough.
Mossberg opened shop in 1919. Most of these Brownies that you’ll find will say “Pat. July 1920” This one says “Pat. Applied For” I suspect this is one of the first firearms to be sold by Mossberg.
A common problem with these guns is people shooting high velocity rounds through them and blowing out the inner chamber walls. That’s the case with this one. It will need repaired to be shot safely. A buddy that does micro welding said he could fix it pretty easily but never had the time.
Looking to trade it to someone who loves the history on these old guns and that had the time for a fun project. Or just someone like me who digs cool paperweights. Lol. Looking to trade to another gun. If interested just shoot me a trade idea. Located in Johnson County.
