I have just bought an ATI stock for my Mosin 91/30 and so I decided to go ahead and buy a muzzle brake as well. The problem didn't come until I tried to put the muzzle brake on the end of the barrel. I noticed it was wobbley at first and figured out that there is a cut in it to slip around the front sight. I got it close and now it won't fit but is definately stuck. I am not looking to be ridiculed for modifying the gun. I am looking for help please no smart allicy comments. I am just looking for help, even though it is just a 100 dollar gun I still don't want to throw it out.
Thanks in advance for any help

Thats what you get for messing with classic wood and steel

Just kidding, I had the same problem when I put a brake on my SKS. I just put a plastic cutting board over the muzzle end, so it would get messed up, and beat the hell out of it with a hammer. It eventually went on. They're made to fit really tight so they dont come off.

see if this works but basically it is bent pretty bad now and I need to take it off and order a new one, any advice as to how to take it off without hurting the gun?

What exactly is a brass drift?
What if i wrap the barrel in electrical tape and then put the brake in a vice and pull?

Give it a shot...... don't put any part of the gun in the vise.

Then I would try chubbs recommendation.

Then maybe a dremel or a hacksaw.......

Giving new meaning to the term "muzzle break".
