I have about 10. The second gun I bought - poor college kid in the mid 2000s - was a basic 91/30 - still have it. My matching PU still gets a fair amount of range time when I'm able to get outdoors. Chased a Finn for a long time, finally snagged one a few years ago. It's one of my favorite guns.

I have several, and I don't understand the fascination. Recoil is awful, accuracy is marginal, they were mass produced conscript bolt actions.

The very few I have met in person that enjoy the rifle, were clearly driven by pricepoint and have limited knowledge or experience with firearms. Sorry, just my experiences.

Did you mean for all of that to be purple? I would never hang onto "several" of anything that I clearly didn't like, enjoy, appreciate, or understand. I'm one of those individuals you referenced that has limited knowledge of firearms, so let me know where to meet you and you can pawn all those horrible rifles off on me for $200 each. Thanks.

So then why do you have several?

I bought a 91/30 Mosin way back for $79 as a birthday gift for my son. We shoot it all the time with custom reloads we worked up for the rifle. It shoots great, 8” steels at 100 yards are no problem to hit. Not bad for a rifle of that age and God knows what history.

I have several 91/30's, bought them when they were less than $100.00 each. My experience for the most part is that they all are fairly accurate considering the older surplus spam can ammo that I shoot thru them. The recoil to me doesn't seem much different than my K98K , Enfield .303 or 03A3.

One of these days I'll get around to loading my old pics on this new laptop. Got a ton of pics that would be right on topic, such as the unissued M28/30, some trench art, and some things that might make you go hmmm. Did find one on my photo host I missed the other day.

The first firearm I ever bought was a Mosin 91/30 for $90 20 years ago. I refinished the stock to natural wood with tung oil and polyurethane, added a scope and bent bolt kit. It doesn’t really get shot anymore but it’s a very special gun to me that really started my firearms journey.

That being said I wouldn't kick one out of the gun safe. I really would like to own a PU sniper (even a replica/clone) and a Finnish variant. The holy grail of all Mosins to me is a Czech VZ.54 Sniper Rifle.

Your collection is incredible, I don't think I've ever seen one with that many examples, and rare ones too. What is the final rifle you posted? The one with the PSO style scope? That's the first time I've seen that one.

That is a VZ54/91, which is the early 90's Czech upgrade of the VZ54 rifle. The upgrades consisted of a new more ergonomic stock, and the 4x SVD's PSO-1 scope with the infrared detector.

You've only seen a piece of his Mosin collection.
And a small piece at that!
