    In the corn and beans
Wife told me of a find near Evansville, that was over the weekend past. I’ve found that for each 1 hour drive north the bloom is ~ one week away. So for us that’s about 3 weeks. Me and my hunting buddy used to tell each other April showers bring May mushrooms. But the weather is the deciding factor. I watch for the odd cars from out of county and state parked along hi-ways 41 and 63, near big woods, that’s my southern limit of permission and an hour south.

ps: I’ve hunted some spots for decades, I always take a couple dozen lbs. of hamburger, or roast, and one old timer a bag of Red Man chew. I keep my permission and good will with landowners it has helped a lot. Some spot’s I’m hunting the 3rd gen. of original permission. I trap fur on a lot of my mushroom hunting spots.
